Who is Alexander Nixon?

Alexander Nixon is a Tampa native and Brooklyn transplant. He studied Spanish and Art at Stanford University, where he won the Nathan Oliviera Award for Painting (2000).

Nixon has an MA from NYU (2008), where he received funding to travel to Cuba for the 3rd and 4th time to study contemporary Cuban artists.

He returned from the Peace Corps in 2011, having served successfully for 2 years and 3 months in Guatemala. This experience inspired Nixon’s first novel.

Nixon is currently a Photo Editor at NYC’s coolest photography agency, the Billy Farrell Agency. He is also a journalist and Adjunct Professor/Guest Lecturer at Berkeley College, as well as a graduate student in Art History at Brooklyn College.
